Racism & Recent Events
When The Center for Urban Education Ministries (CUEM) was founded in 1980, our goal was to provide resources for our urban schools. We are still committed to "relentlessly strengthening urban education" through recruitment, resources, and recognition. As recent events reminds us, there is so much more work to be done. But we are overjoyed to be training some of the brightest future teachers and leaders. There are so many high-performing city schools in our country that are utilizing our valuable resources. And we value teacher excellence daily as student achievement is increasing in our urban schools. CUEM will continue to combat racism, low expectations, and a deficit mindset in our urban schools across the country. With great urgency and optimism, we serve to transform students' lives.
