Join Jessica Raba & Dr. Steve Gerner for a virtual discussion on fostering belonging within the classroom. They will address the question: how can I ensure my students feel a sense of belonging in their daily walk at school?​

Jessica Raba serves as Assistant Head of School | Principal at Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School (LuHi) in Brookville, NY, where she has been a team member since 2017. A product of Lutheran schools, she graduated from LuHi and completed undergraduate studies at Valparaiso University. Her professional career has spanned the middle and high school grades, where she has served as a teacher, coach, and staff developer in Lutheran and charter schools in the New York Metropolitan area. She also served as a consultant with Authentic Education, where she worked with the late Grant Wiggins providing professional development and training in Understanding by Design and related topics. During that time she worked on the Innovation Zone project with the New York City Department of Education and co-managed Toledo Learn, a project with the Toledo Public Schools. In addition, she served as Executive Director of Lutheran Schools Association, which provided advocacy and support for Lutheran schools across much of New York State. She is thrilled to be back school-side in her current role at LuHi.
